DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IMAGES AND SYMBOLS

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IMAGES AND SYMBOLS.

Symbol is usually an object or an action that stands for something and has a deeper meaning then what is simply written in words in the book.   symbolism is only when something stands for something else, and it is very important usually in the work. Symbols are basically used in poems to compare one thing with an other one. In poetry you could use a colour as a symbol For example: O My love is like red red rose, here red is used as the symbol of love but if we see generally red is also the symbol of hate. symbolism is when you use something to represent something else.

Images are descriptive language that allows you visualize everything that is going on, images are just anything that appeals to any of the five senses. For example: Eyes to see, Ears to hear, Nose to smell, Tongue to taste and Skin to touch or feel.  An image can consist of similes, metaphors, allegories and symbols.  Images are more about describing something. images finds similarity between things.Images are what writer makes you feel, see, hear and smell with the help or their words.
